Coach's parent live in Retirement Central! Which also happens to be almost exactly half-way between Coach and his Sister, and about 6 hours from my parents.
Not far from Retirement Central is an old restored mining town, Goldfield. It was a fun place to take the family. There is shopping and dining, train rides, horseback riding, and mine tours. The Mammoth Steakhouse and Saloon has a real hitching post outside. When we left, there were two horses tied up, while their riders enjoyed a meal on the patio.
A rare photo of all 3 of us

So happy we don't have to use these to write anymore!
Thanksgiving eve I cooked for the family. I made a Ham, Broccoli and Cauliflower with a smoked cheese sauce (requested by Coach), and a Blackberry Crisp. I used The Pioneer Woman's Glazed Easter Ham recipe. It was AWESOME (and I don't even like Dr Pepper)!
We had lunch one day at Joe's Farm Grill, featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Uncle K. said it was a "Must Eat". Coach and I love to find Triple D's on our travels, we have even been known to drive a few extra miles just to eat at one. Joe's grows all their own produce. Coach loved the homemade pickles, and even though I ordered the burger, I was not gut-bombed when I was through.
I had the BBQ Bacon Blue Burger, Coach had the Southwestern Burger (minus the Avocado, which went on my burger), Critter had a Grilled Cheese, and we shared an order of the Rosemary-Dill Onion Rings which we dipped in Chipotle Mayo.
My Mom brought me 4 boxes of old Pyrex! I mentioned to her that I had started collecting it, and now my collection has grown exponentially! I'll same more on this for a different post.
We had a wonderful visit with everyone. I got some Christmas Knitting done. We spent a day going to Antique Malls, and second hand stores. It is times like these when I really miss living around family.
